Winning Riders

The overall and category winners will be the riders who complete the most laps in 24+ hours of race time. For riders on the same number of laps, the shortest 24+ race time wins.

24hrs of Adrenalin

Australian Solo 24Hr Champion Jerseys

Australian Championship Jerseys will be awarded to the highest placed overall male and female Solo 24 Hour riders (irrespective of entry category) who are Australian Citizens as at 22 March 2008.

Qualifying for the 2008 24Hrs of Adrenalin World Solo 24Hr Championship

The following riders from the 2008 Australian Solo 24Hr Mountain Bike Championship will qualify for the 2008 24Hrs of Adrenalin World Solo 24Hr Championship to be held in Canmore, Alberta on 27 July 2008:

Open or Age Group Category at Worlds (rider's choice)

Riders who ride 75% or more of the number of laps of the open winner for their gender.

Age Group Category at Worlds

Riders who ride 50% to 75% of the number of laps of the open winner for their gender.

Example

The overall winning male rider completes 40 laps. If a male rider completed:

  • 32 laps, they would qualify for the worlds in the open or age categories.
  • 28 laps, they would qualify for the worlds only in their age group category.
  • 17 laps, they would not qualify for the worlds.

Riders may also have qualified for the 2008 24Hrs of Adrenalin World Solo 24Hr Championships based on their performance in the 2007 Scott Australian 24Hr Mountain Bike Championships.

Overall Prizes

The overall male and female placegetters will each receive:

1st $2,000
  • Two Australian Solo 24Hr MTB Champions Jerseys awarded by MTBA (subject to them meeting the Australian Citizenship requirements above).
  • An economy return airfare up to $A 3,000 value, from their nearest Australian international airport to Canmore, Alberta to race in the 2008 24Hrs of Adrenalin World Solo 24Hr Championship. Riders must enter the 24Hrs of Adrenalin World Solo 24Hr Championship to be eligible for the airfare prize. This airfare prize is not subject to Australian Citizenship requirements.
  • Product prizes.
2nd $1,000 Product Prizes.
3rd $500 Product Prizes.
4th $250
5th $125

Age Category Prizes

MTBA medallions will be awarded to the first 3 placegetters in each 24Hr age category. All 24Hr podium (1/2/3) placegetters will receive a combination of cash and/or product prizes. Riders can win prizes in more than one category; for example, single speed, an age category and overall 24Hr winner could all go to the same rider.

Prizes will be given to all podium (1,2,3) riders irrespective of how many riders are in the category. Riders must receive a valid finish (>24 hours from start time) in order to podium.

Single Speed Prizes

The first three 24Hr category riders who ride a single speed bike for the entire race will be awarded Overall Single Speed category prizes. Single Speed riders are identified by “SS” after their surname. They must advise their Single Speed status at registration at the event.

6+6 Hr Category Prizes

A combination of cash and product prizes will be given to all podium (1,2,3) riders irrespective of how many riders are in the category. 6+6 category winners do not receive medals. Riders must receive a valid finish (>24 hours from start time) in order to podium. The minimum prize/value will be:

All finishers will receive a race pin. Everyone gets Easter Eggs on Sunday!
